Judge David N. Stansbury was appointed as the newest judge of the Licking County Municipal Court in June 2010.  Prior to his appointment, Judge Stansbury operated his own law firm, focusing on litigation in criminal, traffic, and juvenile law.  Prior to that, he was an associate attorney for a local law firm beginning in 1999.  He also served as an investigator for the same firm before successfully sitting for the Ohio Bar Examination in February 1999.

 

Judge Stansbury is a 1988 graduate of Granville High School where he was Vice-President of the Senior Class and played football and tennis.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The Ohio State University in 1993 and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta National Honorary History Society.  Judge Stansbury graduated from Boston University School of Law, obtaining his juris doctor degree in 1996.  While at BUSL, he served as an articles editor for the International Law Journal.

 

Judge Stansbury is currently a member of the Licking County and Ohio State Bar Associations, serving on various committees, including the Notary and Bar Applicant Screening Committees.  He is a past Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Licking County Alcoholism Prevention Program and presently serves on the Advisory Board for the Granville Recreation District.

 

Judge Stansbury lives in Granville with his wife, Cathy, their daughter, Catie, and his stepsons, Alex James and Josh James.
