Biography for Judge W. David Branstool
Judge David Branstool was born and raised in Utica, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1989, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Judge Branstool attended Capital University Law School and in 1994 received his law degree with honors. While at Capital Judge Branstool served on the Law Review and in 1992 received the American Juspondence Award in Constitutional Law.
In 1994 Judge Branstool was admitted to the practice of law. He practiced law from 1994 until November 2003, when he was elected to the Licking County Municipal Court. In 2005, Judge Branstool was re-elected to the Court without opposition.
Judge Branstool is a member of the Licking County and Ohio State Bar Associations and serves on the Criminal Law and Procedure and Jury Service Committees for the Ohio Judicial Conference.
